  • Our Traditional Alrewas Butchers shop was first established in 1867 and taken over by the Coates family in 1900. Today the business is run by the family’s third and fourth generation, father and son Peter and Antony Coates and we now have a further three shops located in Tamworth, Staffordshire, Borrowash, Derbyshire and Wollaton, Nottinghamshire.

For over 150 years we have prided ourselves on our quality service and value for money and we strive to ensure that we cater for all our customers’ culinary needs.

Our meat is sourced from the best local farms and livestock markets meaning that when you purchase from us you are not only receiving the best you can buy but you are also helping us to support the local countryside, something that as a business we are very passionate about.

Available from August to April, our wild game products are a great menu option if you fancy something a bit different.

We source our game from local shoots such as Catton Hall.

    Depending on availability, choose from:

    • Venison
    • Pheasant
    • Partridge
    • Wild Duck
    • Wild rabbit

Just ask in our shops – we’ll be delighted to advise on the best ways to prepare our game products. Or just take one of our recipe cards and try for yourself.
