Food with local provenance is key to what we offer at the Hawarden Estate Farm Shop, and our customers are proud to support their local farmers. We also source the best of what we can find from farther afield, curating produce from small, artisan businesses overseas who believe in real food and natural products as passionately as we do.
Our fresh meat is sourced directly from farms on the Hawarden Estate. The farmers work hand-in-hand with Rob, our head butcher, to produce meat for our customers that has the perfect husbandry, conformation and fat coverage. Rob ensures that the carcases are hung long enough to develop a rich flavour and guaranteed tenderness (usually around 28 days) and then expertly butchered by him and his team.
Game is also reared on the Hawarden Estate and sold when in season, along with our rarebreed pork.
The Farm Shop Café and delicatessen source directly from our butchery team, ensuring that the provenance and quality of our home-cooked meats, pies and sausages is consistently maintained throughout our entire food offering.
