Free entry for BASC members!

The Game Fair’s largest ever cookery theatre, consolidated with BASC Taste of Game bring you an astonishing line-up of chefs, ideas and recipes along with expert advice, techniques and stories that will inspire you. You can learn about food sources, sustainability and best practice and enjoy a class of wine whilst you are at it.

The Game Fair has its roots and heritage firmly front and centre of the food chain.  61 years ago the event emerged from a scientific conference studying game bird populations and best practice in rearing and managing the countryside for food production.  Today it is no wonder that The Game Fair’s Cookery Theatre is the most popular attraction and the most enthused about among the many journalists and reporters that attend.  We help bring some of the biggest names in game cookery in a first class kitchen theatre showcasing recipes and ideas all weekend. There will be opportunities to meet and question the chefs and recipe cards to take home and perfect the dishes you have seen demonstrated.

The British Charcuterie Awards

The British Charcuterie Awards are delighted to stage the finals of Britain’s Best Game Charcuterie at this year’s Game Fair.

Launched this year, this new and exciting Star Award – sponsored by Taste of Game – is an exciting addition to the British Charcuterie Awards.  Whether a cured or smoked whole or pre-sliced muscle or joint -, salami, pate or terrine, any charcuterie product made entirely from game or contains at least a proportion of game, is eligible for entry.
Judging will take place in The Kitchen Theatre on Saturday 27 July at 11 am and judges include The British Charcuterie Awards Head Judge John Gower, Steven Lamb of River Cottage and the revered butcher David Lidgate of Lidgate’s with presenter and broadcaster Nigel Barden and British Charcuterie Awards founder Henrietta Green in attendance.

So come along and watch, sample and taste the best Game Charcuterie Britain has to offer, watch Charcuterie demonstrations throughout the day and find out more about this rising star of the British food scene.
