BASC South East will be once again hosting a Taste of ‘Sussex’ Game evening at the Sussex Ox, Alfriston, East Sussex on Thursday 3rd December from 6pm.
A three course menu showcasing the very best of Sussex game will include a main course which saw head chef, Michael Sutherland through to the final of the Sussex Food and Drink Awards ‘Young Chef of the Year 2016’.
There will be an after dinner presentation by His Grace the Duke of Norfolk’s head keeper, Charlie Mellor. Charlie heads up one of two teams of keepers at Arundel Castle and is responsible for re-establishing the ‘wild grey partridge’ population. As a result the estate is rich in wildlife and biodiversity and attracts a great deal of interest from the GWCT and other wildlife groups – a great example of how shooting and conservation goes hand in hand.
